About: Introduction to Performance Studies: Three main points
1) Performance is an open
field, everything can be studied as performance. As behaviour is the object of
study, anywhere we find some kind of vivid behaviour, and we can actually do
anywhere, there comes a chance to the practice or analisis of performance.
2)
Any action that is framed, enacted, presented, highlighted, or
displayed is a performance. What is studied are practices, events, behaviours,
not objects or things.
3)
The academic discipline of performance studies has emerged as a
response to an increasingly performative world. An hipertextual world.
